You smile on the outside,

You put on a facade.

“I’m fine,” you say too brightly.

You hide the pain inside.

“You’re doing great,” they say.

You force a grin and nod.

But behind the mask

And the fortress walls…

You crack.

No one knows the silent pain

You harbor deep inside.

The way your heart feels like it’s

Being torn apart.

No one hears your gut-wrenching sobs,

Your desperate cries to God.

No one sees the way you curl up on the floor,

Begging the pain to stop.

No one sees.

No one hears.

No one listens.

No one knows.

None but God.

He sees.

He hears.

He listens.

He knows.

And even in your anguished grief,

Your choked-back sobs,

Your silent cries for help,

That is enough.

It is enough to know

He cares.
