The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever – Isaiah 40:8 NIV

We learn about endings at an early age

“The sun will go down, and the dark will come.”

But our thoughts often cling to the darker phase,

We give in to fear and forget the days

When dark surrenders to rising sun!

We fail to recall that in the past

Our panic fled with the first bright ray

We shook off the burden of the night,

Looked up in faith, embraced the day.

So, bask in the sunset’s mellow glow,

Those harbingers of coming night,

Anticipate them, for you know

They’ll lead us to bright day — the light!

And in that ending that ends them all,

That last twilight that will ever fall,

We’ll face the dark just one more time,

No endings now — God’s Light will shine!
