Never
Do I take the time
to notice Your messages
that You send to me.
But they are there —
they are everywhere.
They are in the song lyrics I blast in my car.
They are in the soft flutters of the falling leaves.
They are in the gentle caress of the blowing wind.
They are in the stillness of the dark winter night.
They are in the small whispers of my conscience.
They are in the ringing words of my friends and family.
Your messages are everywhere.
Teach me to look for them.
I don’t want to miss
all of the beauty,
splendor,
majesty,
that You send to greet
this distracted heart.
